Neumann 's SKM 184 NI Stereo Matched Pair is a kit that contains a stereo matched pair of KM 184 microphones. The microphones feature cardioid pressure condenser elements intended for live sound reinforcement and broadcasts as well as recording applications. The KM 180 series microphones feature an output stage based on the KM 100. The transformerless circuit and balanced output result in high output gain with a very low noise level and no coloration in the output signal. The KM 184 is powered by +48V phantom power.

The stereo pair is compatible in sensitivity and frequency response and provides great results when capturing performances or ambience. The 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response provides flexibility for use in a wide variety of recording situations. The KM 184's cardioid polar pattern offers a generous pickup area and is suitable for ambient or local miked instruments such as piano, woodwinds, organ and choir. The KM 184 supports sound pressure levels of up to 138 dB, allowing close capture of instruments with a high level of transient response (peak).
