The Bettermaker® Passive Stereo Equalizer (SPE) is for those seeking excellent EQ quality with the convenience of fast, accurate retrieval and automation. SPE offers 100% signal path of legendary passive filters. All this with quality sound mastering and patented recall with the speed of a native plugin.

100% analog audio signal path

– USB connectivity with MAC/PC

– all parameters are digitally controlled by the DAW (with dedicated plugin)

– stereo passive equalizer with extended hi-boost section (air bands: 20 and 28 kHz)

– adjustable output level (+/- 8dB)

Digital Section

The sound of the Passive Stereo Equalizer is obviously based on the quality of its precisely matched analog filters, capacitors and inductors. But all user control and interactions are performed in the digital domain. This allows us to incorporate options and possibilities not found in any standard analog equalizer:

- Instant reset of all parameters

- Fast, accurate and repeatable adjustments

- Precisely linked stereo operation with single-control ease

- DAW automation and recall of all available parameters

The digital section of the passive stereo equalizer is based on a high-speed 32-bit microcontroller, with dedicated firmware programmed into its memory (with the possibility of updating the firmware via USB connection). It controls analog filter parameters, monitors the user interface, USB connectivity, and other SPE functions.

DAW integration

The Bettermaker Streo Passive Equalizer can communicate with your DAW via USB connection.

The unit appears as a HID device and can be managed through the Bettermaker Stereo Passive Equalizer plug-in.

You can program up to 32 snapshots of the passive stereo EQ state that can be triggered by automation.

This way, when you have a mastering session, you can trigger complete sets of parameters from song to song with just one command.

Additionally, the plugin itself offers a new hybrid approach to audio editing. In the Digital HPF section hides our famous 24dB/octave high pass filter with the activation button below. Above it, hidden under our recognizable “B”, you will find some adjustment functions, but also our very accurate FFT analyzer with approximation of digital and analogue passive filter curves.
