Clearmountain's Spaces from Apogee Electronics is an effects plug-in that faithfully reproduces the sound of Bob Clearmountain's reverb processes in the digital environment.

The plug-in was developed through a collaboration with Bob Clearmountain, a legendary mixing engineer known for his work on tracks by David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen and others.

Essentially, Spaces takes a complete module from a larger plugin - Clearmountain's Domain - and makes it available for use as its own effect. This convolution reverb implements three customizable spaces, full input processing to control tone on input, a real-time spatial visualizer, and extensive presets based on the work of Clearmountain. A considerable number of impulse responses sampled in real environments are provided.

Flexible Input Processing

An intuitive de-esser removes distracting sibilance for a smooth, consistent reverb. Adjust the pre-delay to separate the dry signal from the Spaces signal for greater clarity and rhythmic interest. A 3-band EQ is provided for smooth or radical tonal manipulation.

Three Customizable and Combinable Spaces

Apogee Studio is a short, warm ambiance of Apogee's in-house recording studio and development lab. Mix This! is a bright, mid-length reverb from the physical echo chambers of the Mix This! studio. from Clearmountain in Los Angeles. Roscoe is an extra-long, rich reverb captured in a friend's Clearmountain studio with AEA ribbon mics for a super warm sound.
