Clearmountain's Domain from Apogee Electronics is an effects signal chain plug-in that faithfully reproduces the sound of Bob Clearmountain's delay, pitch and reverb mixing process in the digital world.

The plug-in was developed in collaboration with Bob Clearmountain, a legendary mixing engineer known for his work on tracks by David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen and others. A comprehensive menu of presets offers classic Clearmountain effects, from the opening snare drum of "Born in the USA" to the echoing guitar of "Let's Dance."

The plug-in starts with a de-esser and a 3-band equalizer to process the signal before effects. Next, you'll find a highly adjustable delay, a pitch shift section, and three independent convolution reverbs. You can mix all five sections on one mixer panel, thus creating the perfect space for your mixing. Clearmountain's Domain's home page features a real-time effects viewer, along with faders for the input signal and dry/wet mix.

Prohibited
Preconditioning the audio before sending it to reverb and delay is an important aspect of this plug-in's character. De-esser and 3-band equalizer based on Clearmountain's original hardware devices are included in the input section.

Delay

Set the delay time according to the session time or ring time. Link Spin (feedback) to both sides and change your routing. Equalize each side independently. Add a saturation effect called Blur for a crunchy, lo-fi sound.

Pitch Change
Create subtle or extravagant sounds with up to an octave of pitch shift delay in any direction, as well as random pitch modulation.

Reverbs
Up to three independent reverbs can be used at the same time.

Mixer
Create the ideal mix of delay, pitch-shifted delay, and Bob's three custom convolution reverbs. Then adjust the mix between the dry and wet signal.

System Compatibility
