Powerful independent sequencing and sampling

Akai Professional has combined its legendary MPC platform with a keyboard workstation for the first time! The new MPC Key 61 is one of the most feature-packed standalone production tools ever produced. Akai's MPC changed music forever in the late '80s once pop and hip-hop luminaries got their hands on it, and this MPC Key 61 features refined versions of MPC tools with additional velocity-sensitive pads. pressure, pad memory, 63 function buttons and much more. Use the MPC Key 61 as a standalone workstation; a controller/input for DAWs, MIDI devices or hardware synthesizers; as a sampler; and almost anything else. The integrated LED display features a spacious 8.5" x 5.5" touchscreen that can be adjusted flat or vertical to suit your game, and the MPC's 16GB flash storage comes loaded with 10GB of preloaded content. -Installed ready to use right out of the box. Plus, it's easy to expand the MPC's storage thanks to an integrated drive bay for solid-state or hard disk drives, a feature that MPC enthusiasts are eager to embrace. Legions of devotees are lining up to get this MPC innovation — order yours today!

Endless ways to experiment and create

Together, the MPC software and keyboard workstation tools are a force to be reckoned with. There are countless ways to apply the MPC Key 61. You can use it as a sampler, as a controller for analog synths, as a MIDI controller in a DAW, or simply as a standalone production studio using built-in sounds, instruments, and plug-in software. -ins. The device features a plethora of I/O options: dedicated 5-pin MIDI input, output, and passthrough, two USB-A slots, eight CV/Gate outputs for connecting modular analog gear, two 1/4-inch XLR and TRS combos . entries and much more. Additionally, the MPC Key 61 supports Ableton Link via WI-FI so you can connect wirelessly and use Ableton Link compatible apps.

Tailor-made for production with dedicated OS and RAM

With so many features built in, the Akai MPC Key 61 guarantees lightning-fast performance through built-in RAM and a dedicated operating system powering your tools. In short, it's a standalone computer built for music production—no PC, no extra software, no purchases required. And while it's a fiercely standalone device, the MPC Key 61 also works well with others with endless ways to connect analogue and digital devices.

Modular storage with unlimited sample size

The MPC Key 61's 16GB flash storage comes preloaded with approximately 10GB of classic Akai content. Expanding the internal storage with your samples, sequences and more is easy using the two USB 3.0 slots for thumb drives or a built-in slot for adding a dedicated solid-state drive or hard drive. These features make the MPC Key 61 virtually future-proof, with multiple ways to ensure your storage never runs low. What's more, the MPC Key 61 doesn't limit sample sizes — the only thing that will constrain your sample size is the available storage space, which means more room for experimentation and high-quality audio.

Generous rail allocations

The MPC Key 61's sky-high track count gives creators incredible space for self-expression. Hardware sequences can contain up to eight audio tracks, whereas a software MPC sequence can contain 128 audio tracks. Up to 128 MIDI/drums/VST tracks in 16-, 24-, or 32-bit resolutions up to 96kHz are also possible. And this is far from the limit of this device. There is additional support for up to eight stereo tracks and another 128 external hardware MIDI/drums/VST tracks. Subtle features like these are just a taste of what has made MPC hardware essential for producers, beat makers, and artists of all stripes for decades.

The legacy of MPC

Picture this: the year is 2007. A 60-minute camera zooms in on Kanye West as he plays a simple beat on an Akai MPC. Interviewer Bob Simon comments, "I don't think anyone would believe you're doing all that from this rhythm machine." And yet it was true. In fact, the MPC platform's tools have created some of the most memorable hip-hop tracks of all time, a big reason why it remains a popular choice for beginners and professionals alike. Now, the Key 61 version builds on the legacy of that MPC with an array of features not found on previous models.
