EVENTIDE SHIMMERVERB combines an extremely bright reverb with parallel pitch shifters to add ethereal layers making any signal, well, “shimmer”.

Often producers would achieve the effect using pitch-shifting hardware Eventide , such as the H910, H949 or H3000 or other rackmount units in combination with a reverb. This production technique was popularized by Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno in The Unforgettable Fire by U2.

Now this iconic sound has been refined and expanded with a modern, unified interface that's great for adding dreamy ambience to guitars, keys, synths, samples and vocals.In typical Dusk fashion, features have been added such as the ability to feedback infinitely the signal, resulting in unique reverberations that fade into oblivion. Feedback can be further tuned by specifying which frequencies are fed back through the low/medium/high cross-over network.

ShimmerVerb shines through its playable and performance-based parameters. THE RIBBON is an easy-to-program performance macro, allowing users to transform between two settings with one control. Desktop users can connect a MIDI keyboard and get tactile command over this function via the modwheel.

Ribbon mappings are great for feedback boosts, moving Pitch knobs or changing size for a massive detune result. ShimmerVerb also has a HOTSWITCH to call up other parameter states within the same preset. Use it to change octaves, turn pitch shifters off/on, or simply raise or lower the Mix while creating your performance. Finally, the FREEZE button allows you to texture single voices, full pads, or percussive elements, resulting in metallic “sparkles.”
