Available for download, Celemony Melodyne 5 Editor is a pitch adjustment and temporal realignment software that is widely recognized for its ability to rhythmically tune and realign notes. Professional mixing engineers often use Melodyne to improve the performance of parts that aren't up to par, whether in monophonic or polyphonic situations.
Note: This price is for users who purchased Melodyne 5 Essential and want to upgrade to Melodyne 5 Editor. You must have previously purchased this software to qualify for this update.
Version 5 brings many new features and several improvements over version 4. A new "Fade" tool allows precise control of dynamics, allowing you to naturally change the level and intensity of any note without the need for compression or automation traditional. A "Level Macro" can perform dynamics control more extensively without sacrificing musical results. Additionally, it is possible to control sibilance more effectively without the need for a dedicated de-esser, using the new "Sibilant" tool.
The new "Melodic" algorithm adjusts material to preserve its fundamental humanity and natural sound, including sibilance detection. For tuned instruments such as tablas or 808 drums, Melodyne 5 Editor offers a new "Percussive Pitch" algorithm. Editing chords is also much easier thanks to the new "Chord Track".
There has been an overhaul of shortcut integration and preset saving. Additionally, the file saving system has been reworked: there are no longer separate .mdd files; All detection data is now saved in the audio file itself, simplifying your file directory.
Melodyne 5 Editor is standalone production software, but can communicate with your DAW through ARA integration; can also be used as a VST, AU or AAX plugin. It is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems.
What's new in Melodyne 5:
- "Fade" Tool: Extensive control of dynamics with note-based fades.
- "Sibilant" tool: per-note adjustment of the volume ratio between tuned and untuned vocal sounds (de-essing).
- New "Melodic" algorithm with sibilance detection for natural results.
- New leveling macro to reduce or eliminate excessive volume disparities between notes.
- New "Percussive Pitched" algorithm for instruments such as tablas, berimbaus or 808 drums.
- Search functions for keyboard shortcuts and improvements to saving custom shortcut sets.
- Psychoacoustically accurate pitch detection: Melodyne can now more accurately identify and adjust important human elements during vocal tuning, preserving the naturalness of the performance.
- Chord Track and Chord Grid: Melodyne 5 Editor provides a chord track linked to the Pitch Grid in the Note Editor, making it easier to work with chords and harmonies.
- Robust Pitch Bend: With this new option, you can achieve better sound quality when editing specific signals, such as those with a lot of reverb.
- Enhancement of the Complex algorithm: This algorithm has been improved and can now be used with the same flexibility as the Tonal algorithm regarding formant preservation and manipulation.
- Improved keyboard shortcuts: A new search function for keyboard shortcuts has been added, and the saving of custom shortcut sets has been improved.
- No more .mdd files: Melodyne detection data, which was previously saved in separate .mdd files, is now stored in the audio files themselves, making file directories clearer and project sharing easier.

- Direct access to notes on an unlimited number of tracks.
- Two additional polyphonic algorithms: sustain (for strings, organs, etc.) and decay (guitar, piano, etc.).
- Simplified user interface.
- Improved keyboard commands.
- Timing Intelligence: Mapping and editing timing fluctuations in a recording.
Applications:
- Manual or automatic correction of tuning and timing errors.
- Reformulation of melodies, harmonies, timing and rhythm.
- De-essing, leveling and dynamics processing.
- Transposition, including adjustment to scale.
- Creation and editing of scales.
- Extract audio scales, edit and apply them to other recordings.
- Modify various note parameters such as volume, vibrato and formant spectrum.
- Send real-time audio as MIDI notes to a plug-in (virtual instrument).
- Detailed editing of note timing.
- Pitch change and tempo stretching.
- Requantization.
- Audio to MIDI conversion with MIDI file export.
Monophonic and Polyphonic Material:
In the case of monophonic audio material (solo voice, saxophone, bass, etc.) and polyphonic audio material (piano, guitar, etc.), the following edits are possible:
- Modify the tuning.
- Modify the pitch offset.
- Modify the pitch modulation.
- Modify the position.
- Modify the length.
- Modify attack speed.
- Modify the time evolution of notes.
- Modify the volume.
- Modify the overtone content of notes.
- Change the formant spectrum.
- Modify the pitch of any transition between notes.
- Modify the volume of any transition between notes.
- Change the formant spectrum of any transition between notes.
- Timing requantization, manually or via macro.
- Pitch quantization, manually or via macro.
- Cut, copy and paste.
Rhythmic and Complex Material:
In the case of rhythmic and complex material, the separation is done according to beats; therefore, if multiple notes (e.g. click and snare) sound on the same beat, they are available for editing in the form of a single Melodyne block. For these blocks, the following editing possibilities exist:
- Modify the (relative) tuning.
- Modify the position.
- Modify the length.
- Modify the volume.
- Modify attack speed.
- Modify the time evolution of notes.
- Change the formant spectrum.
- Modify the volume transition between blocks.
- Change the formant spectrum of transitions between blocks.
- Timing quantization, manually or via macro.
- Cut, copy and paste.
