Effective shockmounting for your pencil microphones

We have an accessory that will improve the quality of your recordings. Designed for professional use, the Avantone SSM shock mount locks your microphones in place without sliding or shifting, while preventing the transmission of frame-borne vibration and low-frequency noise that can ruin a perfect shot. To achieve a clean mix, all microphones should be shock-mounted to reduce low-frequency mud, particularly in sessions or stage setups with multiple open and full-range microphones. The Avantone SSM is constructed from tough die-cast zinc, which is not only incredibly durable, but also adds mass, which contributes to vibration damping and decoupling. Rugged construction and O-ring suspension securely hold most small-bodied microphones while “floating” them for physical isolation.

High-tech suspension

The O-rings can also be configured in an “X” pattern to allow for a better fit in the extra-thin barrels typical of some measurement microphones. Made from a custom formula of high-tech ethylene propylene, the super-strong O-rings are resistant to surface breaks and cuts and remain flexible and effective even with prolonged use in hot, dry climates. They have excellent ozone and weather resistance and maintain their physical properties even under stretching conditions.
