Available for download, Celemony Melodyne 5 Essentials is a pitch adjustment and temporal realignment software widely respected for its ability to rhythmically tune and realign notes. Professional mixing engineers often use Melodyne to improve the performance of parts that don't quite meet expectations, whether in monophonic or polyphonic situations.

Version 5 brings many new features and several improvements over Version 4. A "Level Macro" can perform dynamics control more comprehensively without sacrificing musical results. The new "Melodic" algorithm adjusts material to preserve its fundamental humanity and natural sound, including sibilance detection. For tuned instruments such as tablas or 808 drums, Melodyne 5 Essentials offers a new "Percussive Pitch" algorithm. Editing chords is also much easier thanks to the new "Chord Track".

There has been an overhaul of shortcut integration and preset saving. Additionally, the file saving system has been reworked: there are no longer separate .mdd files; All detection data is now saved in the audio file itself, simplifying your file directory.

Melodyne 5 Essentials is standalone production software, but can communicate with supported DAWs through ARA integration or be used as a VST, AU, or AAX plug-in. It is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems.

• Psychoacoustically accurate pitch correction: Sometimes an out-of-tune note needs to remain untouched to preserve the humanity of a performance. Sometimes a note needs to be tuned to sound correct. Melodyne can now more accurately identify and adjust important human elements during vocal tuning, preserving the naturalness of the performance. The software can accurately identify problem areas, and the offset shown in the "Note Inspector" will be calculated from the pitch of each note at the crucial moment, rather than its duration. As a result, double-clicking a note value can now produce a correct, musical result. Each individual note is tuned to perfection while maintaining naturalness.
• Chord Track and Chord Grid: The Melodyne 5 Editor provides a chord track linked to the Pitch Grid in the Note Editor. This makes working with chords much more enjoyable and working with harmonies much more transparent. Because you can see which tunings are compatible with the current chord at any time, you can adapt notes quickly. This is useful when you are changing chords and if you want to harmonize any sample with your song.
• Robust Pitch Bend: With this new option, you can achieve better sound quality when editing certain signals, such as those with a lot of reverb. When enabled, the monophonic algorithms use a pitch curve that has been slightly smoothed.
• Complex Algorithm Improvement: This algorithm has been improved and can now be used with the same flexibility as the Tonal algorithm when it comes to formant preservation and manipulation.
• Better Keyboard Shortcuts: A new search function for keyboard shortcuts has been added, and the saving of custom shortcut sets has been improved.
• No More .mdd Files: Melodyne detection data, which was previously saved in separate .mdd files, is now stored in the audio files themselves, making file directories clearer and project sharing easier.
